Rawhide Whiz was our grullo reining-bred stallion that we lost on January
18, 2009 to a colic/impaction-related issue.. After being sidelined in 2007 due to our
own financial constraints, he went back into training in 2008 and attended
his first show for schooling on January 1, 2009. We hoped to get him to a
couple more shows before he returned home for the 2009 breeding season.
Unfortunately, we lost him before he could show us how much he was learning.
I am devastated today, as he was like a dream come true for us. Finding
another stallion with our desired color of grullo AND with a pedigree full
of quality horses such as this is nearly an impossible task. Additionally,
he was an honest horse at breeding (well, collection) time that I felt safe
working with every day, every time. To say he will be missed is an
understatement and a disservice to him. He was truly special.
