Cedar Ridge Quarter Horses, grullo grulla blue roan, AQHA, quarter horses, reining, Hancock, Blue Valentine

Yahoot N Yaholler

SOLD!  Congratulations to Bob and Julia in California!

Fall of 2003 as a yearling.  October 11, 2003.
Holly has her head up high because my husband was waving his hat over his head and she was trying to see it!  She seems to be awfully calm and curious.

SireBlue Yahooty Hancock, grulla blue roan
DamBaileys Badland Buck, palomino dun from 2 grullo parents
Grulla filly.  Her only white is a faint star on her head.
DOB:  3-24-2002

Her dam, Baileys Badland Buck

Holly looks like she'll be about 15 hh tall at maturity.

bulletBeautiful medium slate grulla with a big, wide hip
bulletNo white feet
bulletBrindle striping clear to her elbow on at least one side
bulletPretty little head, with deep jaw and small muzzle
bullet50% chance she's homozygous for dun factor gene (would produce 100% duns and grullas)
bulletWill produce 50 to 100% grullas, red duns, and duns regardless of color of stallion bred to
bulletFoundation bred.  She'll be 92% NFQHA, and should be higher with FQHR.
bulletEleven of the first fourteen horses on her pedigree are colored
bulletSuitable for many specialties including cutting, reining, calf or team roping, and breeding!
bulletShould mature between 14.3 and 15.1 hh....but seems to be heading toward the top end of that range.
bulletShe may cost a little more than a lower-quality filly you can buy, but average that out over her useful life and consider what a deal you'd be getting if you went for the higher-quality foal instead of the cheaper, lower-quality one!

This filly has a wedge-shaped head (small muzzle, wide between the eyes, etc.), and has a big hip to match.  She has good bone, and she will be both wide and taller than we'd expect by her sire's and dam's heights.  She profiles almost identically to the famous old foundation horses that I've seen pictures of.  She has had her feet trimmed several times, has been wormed many times, has had both West Nile shots in August of 2002 and one in April, 2003, and is halter broke.  She also accepts a cold water hose and has had her ears and bridle path clipped without the use of a twitch.
