Cedar Ridge Quarter Horses, grullo grulla blue roan, AQHA, quarter horses, reining, Hancock, Blue Valentine

Try Yahooty Blu

SOLD

SireBlue Yahooty Hancock, grullo roan
DamBaileys Badland Buck, dunalino from 2 grullo parents
Grulla colt.  DOB:  4-14-2004

Try comes from our favorite cross for stoutness, and if he follows his three older sisters, he'll have a very gentle personality to go with that bulk.  Try has great legs and hooves, and a good foundation horse's conformation.  We think he'll be worth hanging on to for a few years to see what he looks like when he's mature.

bulletA nice, round-hipped colt with no white other than a faint star on his forehead
bulletHis dam is a thick mare whose parents were both grullo
bulletSire is grullo who produced about 90% colored foals
bulletSuitable for many specialties including cutting, reining, calf or team roping, and breeding!
bulletAn excellent candidate for foundation association showing, ABRA, IBHA, etc.!
bulletSire goes back to these horses multiple times: King P-234, Peter McCue, Leo, Joe Reed, Blackburn,  Zantanon, plus goes back to Blue Valentine, Joe Hancock, Music Mount, Oklahoma Star, Plaudit, and  Bartender
bullet50% chance he's homozygous for dun factor gene (would produce 100% duns and grullas).  Click here to see the statistics on this.
bulletWill produce 50 to 100% grullas, red duns, and duns, buckskins, roans, and palominos regardless of color of stallion bred to, as it appears that he carries the dun factor gene, the creme gene, and the roan gene!  We haven't tested him, but based upon his color and his eye color, it looks like he carries the creme gene.
bulletFoundation bred.  He'll be 92% NFQHA, and we believe he should be higher with FQHR.
bulletEleven of the first fourteen horses on his pedigree are colored.
bulletWest Nile and 4-way shots given twice: 8/12/04, 9/7/2004.
bulletWeaned on 8/15/04
bulletLast dewormed 1/1/2005 with Ivermectin orally.
bulletSee www.grullablue.com/sale.htm for sales information on this colt.  If we decide to sell him, we'll list him there.

Pedigree

In the pedigree below, please note that these bloodlines primarily have earned accomplishments outside of AQHA shows (and so don't register many points earned).  These horses have won in cutting associations, rodeo, team roping associations, and on the ranch.  While you might not find many AQHA points here, you WILL find excellent working, roping, cutting, and team penning horses!
